What's the downsizing process?

1

Free consultation

We’re happy to organise a free, virtual or in-person consultation with our team, where we can discuss everything there is to know about our lifestyle communities. It’s a no-obligation, no pressure way to see if Edenlife is right for your situation and lifestyle goals.

2

Choose your home

Choose your dream home and location at one of our lifestyle communities. When you’re ready, a refundable $500 deposit is all that’s needed to secure your site. Then choose your home design and the internal/external colour selections.

3

Begin construction

It’s all happening! Once your building plans are available, we will meet with you to discuss the plans and contract in detail. With $5K down, construction of your new home will commence in line with our building schedule.

4

Move in

Your new home is delivered to the site and connected to all services. The Residential Site Agreement is drawn up and once signed and made final payment, you’re ready to move in and enjoy your new home. Your new lifestyle awaits...

How long does it take to downsize?

Everyone is different, but plan for at least a few months. Selling or renting out your current home can take time to finalise, as well as deciding what you’ll want in a more manageable-sized home; storing, gifting or selling what you don’t. Building your home at Edenlife is expected to take around six months from contract confirmation.

Frequently asked Questions

Look, we know it’s a big decision to move house or to downsize. We’ve answered a few of the the most common questions we get asked. But if you have more, feel free to give us a bell, or come join us for a free info session. Come meet your future neighbours and see if Edenlife is right for you.

Edenlife will have display homes available for private and virtual tours right now. Green spaces, nature trails and your suggestions are all on the table. Say g’day to like-minded neighbours in the community built exclusively for over 50s.

When you move to Edenlife, your purchase agreement is known as a land-lease. The lease grants you the right to occupy your ‘site’ and use all facilities within Edenlife. This agreement simply requires you to pay a weekly fee which rents/leases the land.

Entering into an agreement of this type allows us to offer more affordable purchase prices for your home as you are not paying outright for the land. Edenlife will cover taxes, settlement fees and any ongoing costs of land ownership. Within the land-lease, you are also able to claim Government Rent Assistance if you are eligible.

The site fee gives you the right to occupy the land where your home is sited and covers the costs of running the community. The current fee is around $202.00 per week which reduces to around $130.00 per week to those on a pension, after the Commonwealth rebate is applied.
